Getting the (body) confidence you deserve...

Hello Reader,

I hope you are having a spectacular Friday. Marvelous, wonderous, everything and more!

A very (unusually) quick one from me.

We cannot control the beauty standards. We can't control how the media picks women's bodies apart limb from limb.

Too tall, too small, too fat, too thin, too old, too young, trying too hard, not trying hard enough.

And it is maddening. I'm not here as a societal messaging apologist... It is deranged...You're right.

But. And it's a big but.

We can't stop it. We can't control it, and as much as it would be my dream, the patriarchy will not fall in my lifetime (a girl can hope, amiright?)

And yet not all hope is lost. You can stop waiting for the moment your dream body flies down from the heavens, takes over your current one, and makes you feel confident and able to live the life that you want, exercise the way you want, and eat the way you want...

That day is not coming; that is a fortune-telling cognitive defusion that says you're guaranteed to feel better about your body if you change it.

You're not WRONG for feeling that way; I'd like to challenge the 100% money-back guarantee that you will definitely be living your best life if your body were different.

But we DO have decades of research around body image, relationship with food, and motivation. We have things we can draw on to give you the best shot at FEELING at home in your body, doing fun things without worrying if anyone is looking at your body, eating in a way that supports your health AND your enjoyment of life.

So my question is, how much longer are you willing to wait to set yourself free from the ghosts of diet culture past? How many more summers are going to pass you by before you start enjoying them, being fully present with your loved ones?

I hope not one single second longer than you absolutely have to; you deserve to squeeze every ounce of juice out of your life.

Love you, mean it.

xx

Hello Reader, Happy Friday, my sweet. I should probably be less honest, but SCREW IT. SO I'm in Canada for five whole lucious weeks. I'm extremely fortunate to be here. I love that I can work while I'm here and spend time enjoying the outdoors, as well as seeing my friends and family. You know what they say, a change is as good as a rest. And as much as we want everything to be perfect all the time, contrast provides clarity. Changing my routine and environment has provided clarity about how...

Hello Reader, Happy Friday mon petit pois. I hope your week has been...fine! In client calls this week I think it's been kind of grueling. The vibe at the minute is hard game on hard mode. So to curb some of that, let's make sure you're not playing a hard game on hard mode whilst hangry. Remember you can write in to get my help on whatever food, body image, habit change stuff you're struggling with at the moment by submitting a question to the podcast: Ask Me Anything On with the email......
