Are simple and easy the same thing?

Hello Reader,

It's Eating Disorder Awareness Week. And if we're really real, the health and fitness industry is rife with eating disorders and disordered eating. It's grim. I'm talking just about other coaches and PT's here...

And there are lots of coaches who are leaving people worse off than how they found them, not necessarily on purpose, but ignorance is not a good enough excuse. Negligence is still a form of abuse, and it's just that simple. But I'll save my professional rants for another day

What I need you to know is that I don't hammer on about body image because I love it and I find it fascinating. Although both of those things are true.

Body dissatisfaction and a negative body image are the STRONGEST predictors of Eating Disorders.

And Eating Disorders are the deadliest mental health disorders, with anorexia nervosa being the deadliest.

So yes, I love body image; body image set me free from my own bullshit. But it is also an extremely important pillar of your health. It relates strongly to how you take care of yourself (a positive body image is associated with more physical activity) (body dissatisfaction is associated with increased weight gain over time) (a positive body image is associated with lower BMI) (a positive body image is associated with more health protective behaviours like wearing SPF and getting cervical screenings)

And body image and your eating behaviours go hand in hand, they are besties. And that's why I don't shut up about either.

And if you're giving yourself a hard time about how hard you're finding it to change your eating behaviours, then I'd highly recommend listening to this week's episode of the pod ⬇️

Sometimes something that sounds simple can often be very difficult....

Is reducing snacking or changing your eating patterns that easy? Not necessarily, listen to this week's podcast episode to find out why...

Weekly Reflection:

An opportunity to develop a reflection practice; becoming the person you want to become won't happen by accident

Are you being realistic or are you being harsh on yourself and ignoring how difficult you're finding something? How can you be more honest with yourself about the challenge instead of wishing it was different?

Recs this week:

I have no recs. Sorry. Haha, I've been trying to catch up on sleep and Doctor's appointments ☺️

I hope you have a fab weekend...

If you have a burning query for me about body image, nutrition, or habits, tell me what you're struggling with, and I'll do a podcast episode just for you and your problems. FOR FREE
