Hello Reader,

Happy Friday, dearest reader, happy May!

God, the year is flying, I say that every year, and every year I mean it more and more. A few certainties in life: death, taxes, saying 'Wow, this year is flying,' and finding a new rogue black body hair.

Anyway, on with the email-

I want stuff that works, not the thing that I should 'want', not the shiny thing.

Give me efficacy all day long.

Part of how I ended up going down the research rabbit hole of body image, behaviour change, and self-compassion. Just telling people to eat more protein was kind of a bullshit gig to be honest... A story for another day...

I sacked off fabric softener because I found this Instagram, where she talks about how it can hurt the longevity of your clothes and build up over time. I know very little about being a domestic goddess so I was delighted to find her account.

Now, I don't hate shopping, but I also don't want to do it all* the time. If I find something I like, I'd much rather take care of it rather than fight with the Evri driver who DOES NOT GIVE ME LONG ENOUGH TO ANSWER THE DOOR BEFORE SHE LEAVES. I digress...

Is there anything wrong with fabric softener? No, and sometimes I want my sheets to smell like little sandalwood clouds of dreams.

But overall, I'd rather take care of my clothes, towels, and sheets so I'm not constantly buying, driving myself insane, or having to say goodbye to things I love because they are too many holes to ignore any longer.

I currently have a white wash on with a cup of distilled white vinegar in there to hopefully keep everything sparkly and clean. I wouldn't say that's the 'sexiest' way to go about laundry, but if it WORKS, I'm not really all that bothered.

I'll decant my new 5L jug of distilled white vinegar into something pretty if it really bothers me.

(It won't, she'll live happily underneath my sink in peace)

I'm in the middle of building out a freebie for Body Confidence (if you're reading this you'll be the first to get access) and I have SUCH a fire under my ass about it because there is so much advice that is just not effective.

Some of it is far more detrimental than fabric softener, making your clothes smell good but wear out faster.

I want everyone to be able to access some semblance of EFFECTIVE help on body image because for 99% of people seeking a nutritionist or personal trainer, it's the missing piece that helps you keep your habits going long after coaching is over...

So, it's back to the 'salt mine' for me.

But stay tuned for the free mini-course, the podcast is also making a comeback, where I'll do episodes answering questions, so keep an eye out for a form to get free coaching via podcast.

And at some point in the middle of all of this, I want to build a website.

Keep me in your thoughts lol.

Hello Reader, Happy Friday, my sweet. I should probably be less honest, but SCREW IT. SO I'm in Canada for five whole lucious weeks. I'm extremely fortunate to be here. I love that I can work while I'm here and spend time enjoying the outdoors, as well as seeing my friends and family. You know what they say, a change is as good as a rest. And as much as we want everything to be perfect all the time, contrast provides clarity. Changing my routine and environment has provided clarity about how...

Hello Reader, I hope you are having a spectacular Friday. Marvelous, wonderous, everything and more! A very (unusually) quick one from me. We cannot control the beauty standards. We can't control how the media picks women's bodies apart limb from limb. Too tall, too small, too fat, too thin, too old, too young, trying too hard, not trying hard enough. And it is maddening. I'm not here as a societal messaging apologist... It is deranged...You're right. But. And it's a big but. We can't stop...

Hello Reader, Happiest of Fridays, mes cherubs! I hope you have a spectacular weekend lined up. Let's talk about sweat, baby, let's talk about you and me. Unless you're not sweaty, we can discuss my sweat instead if you'd like... An accurate representation of me writing this email It is hotter than hell at the moment. As a species, you can't argue that we're really quite good at warming planets up; you can't take away our trophy for that little title. The UK, Canada, the US, and many other...
